TPB and TASA

As a registered tax agent, we will perform Tax Agent Services in accordance with the Tax Agents Services Act 2009 (TASA), which includes giving you (the client) the following information:

  1. (a) The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) maintains a register of Tax Agents and BAS Agents. The register can be accessed and searched at https://www.tpb.gov.au/public-register.
  2. (b) Our rights, responsibilities and obligations as a Tax Agent, including its responsibilities and obligations to the client, and the Commissioner of Taxation, can be found in the TASA, including in the Code of Professional Conduct. The client’s obligations to us as Tax Agent include their obligation to keep records, and to provide complete and accurate records to us.
  3. (c) If the client has a complaint about the Tax Agent Services, they can contact Jonathan Gallwey or David Gallwey on (03) 9286 2800. We will work with the client to help resolve the complaint professionally, respectfully and as quickly as possible. If the complaint cannot be resolved, or the client is not satisfied with how the complaint is being handled by us or with the outcome, the client may make a complaint to the TPB. Complaints to the TPB must be made in writing using its online form, available at https://myprofile.tpb.gov.au/complaints/. Further details about the TPB complaints process are available at www.tpb.gov.au/complaints.
